Is Publicly Available Data Still Personal Data?

Information can identify a person even when it appears online, and public availability does not automatically make every reuse fair or safe.

This term matters when a real person enters a form, uses a product, speaks to support or asks the company to act. The business should be able to explain the purpose, owner, systems, vendors, retention and proof in simple language.
What to check
- Write down where is publicly available data still personal data appears in one real workflow.
- Name the person who owns the decision and the evidence.
- Check whether the privacy notice matches what the product or team actually does.
- Review every vendor, export and deletion step connected to the workflow.
