What is a Consent Log?
Simple meaning
A consent log is evidence of who agreed, what they saw, which purpose they accepted, when they acted and how they withdrew.
A simple example
A timestamp without the exact notice version is weak proof because nobody knows what the user read.
Why it matters
DPDP compliance is not only a policy exercise. This term matters when a real person enters a form, uses a product, speaks to support or asks the company to act. The business should be able to explain the purpose, owner, systems, vendors, retention and proof in simple language.

- Write down where a consent log appears in one real workflow.
- Name the person who owns the decision and the evidence.
- Check whether the privacy notice matches what the product or team actually does.
- Review every vendor, export and deletion step connected to the workflow.
